Sunny Deol’s ‘Gadar 2’ has raked in a remarkable Rs 285 crore, while Akshay Kumar’s ‘OMG 2’ has secured a solid Rs 85 crore.

In just one week, ‘Gadar 2’ has created history by amassing a staggering Rs 284.63 crore in its seventh day alone. Experts are predicting it will reach the Rs 300 crore milestone within a day or two.

Renowned film trade analyst Taran Adarsh hailed the movie’s performance as historic. He tweeted, “‘Gadar 2’ has delivered a sensational Week 1… It’s on track to hit Rs 300 crore today (second Friday). The film’s impact in mass markets is unprecedented… The frenzy around this movie is unmatched… Both multiplexes and single screens in these areas haven’t seen such excitement in a very long time.”

Another film trade analyst, Sumit Kadel, not only predicted the movie’s entry into the Rs 300 crore club but also expressed optimism that ‘Gadar 2’ might become the first Hindi film to collect over Rs 100 crore in its second weekend.

“‘Gadar 2’ wrapped up its first week on a historic note, securing the second-highest first-week earnings of all time, even though it clashed with ‘OMG 2’,” Kadel tweeted.

Produced by Zee Studios, the film stars Sunny Deol reprising his iconic role as Tara Singh from the 2001 original. Directed by Anil Sharma, it also features Ameesha Patel returning as Sakeena and Ukarsh Sharma as Charanjeet.

Set against the backdrop of 1971, ‘Gadar 2’ follows Tara Singh’s daring mission to Pakistan to rescue his son, Charanjeet (Jeetey), from the clutches of the Pakistani Army. This sequel continues the story that began during the tumultuous Partition period.”

‘OMG 2’ Defies the Odds at the Box Office!

In the face of tough competition from ‘Gadar 2’, ‘OMG 2’ stood its ground and achieved an impressive first-week box office collection of Rs 85.05 crore in just seven days. According to Kadel, the movie is set to cross the Rs 100 crore mark during its second weekend.

Adarsh highlighted that ‘OMG 2’ owes its success to positive word-of-mouth and whole-hearted audience acceptance. He confidently stated, “The film is poised for significant numbers in the second weekend, especially on Saturday and Sunday… It’s showing no signs of slowing down,” as he tweeted.
